MASSENA MAN COULD FACE LIFE IN PRISON AS PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER

A Massena man was in St. Lawrence County Court this week, where he was found guilty of felony assault. 40 year old Ronald Dillon Jr could now face life in prison for intentionally causing injury to another man… Jonathan McDonald last August in Waddington. Prosecutors say Dillon broke the other man’s jaw in the attack, and because of his extensive criminal history, County Judge Jerome J. Richards is now considering sentencing him as a persistent felony offender. Dillon remains in the St. Lawrence County Jail without bail as he awaits sentencing. If the judge rules at that sentencing, that he is a persistent felony offender, he faces a minimum of 15 years to life and a maximum of 25 years to life in prison. Even if the judge rules that Dillon is not a persistent felony offender, he still faces a minimum of three years in prison and a maximum of seven.
