A report of a man trying to illegally enter the Holy Name of Jesus Academy in the town of Massena last weekend, brought troopers out quickly. It was around 9am Saturday when the call came in. State Police responded, and when they got there, they found 30 year old Tyler Schmidt of Norfolk, who they say had picked up a rock and threw it toward the front door of the school, breaking the glass entrance door. Schmidt was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with Attempted Burglary; Criminal Mischief; and Resisting Arrest. Schmidt was then tossed into the St. Lawrence County Jail, where he remains, in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond.
