For the first time since March, visitation in New York State maximum security prisons will resume on August 5th. Visitation at all other state prisons will begin again on August 8th. Updated guidelines will mean all visitors, staff and inmates will be required to wear masks during visits. The number of adult visitors will be limited to three per visit, and physical contact will be futher restricted. Between the Franklin, Bare Hill and Upstate correctional facilities in northern Franklin County, only one inmate case of COVID-19 has been confirmed, and that inmate has since recovered.
