A Ticonderoga man who shot and killed his friend one year ago, has learned his fate. 39 year old Michael LaRock will spend 25 years tolife in state prison for murdering 37 year old William Brown of Ticonderoga. LaRock’s father… 64 year old Donald LaRock… will also spend time behind bars for tampering with physical evidence connected to the case in Essex County. The elder LaRock was sentenced to two and a third to seven years in prison for first-degree hindering prosecution, and an additional one and a third to four years for that tampering charge. Both men pleaded guilty back in September in Essex County Court, and both are still being held in the Essex County Jail at last report. Brown was a retired U.S. army veteran who served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. At sentencing, the judge also issued orders of protection to the family members who spoke at the sentencing, and deemed Michael LaRock a second-felony offender.
