NORTH COUNTRY MAN FACING FELONY CHARGES FOLLOWING WEEKEND INCIDENT INVOLVING A WEAPON]

One North Country man is now facing a string of felonies and misdemeanors following an incident last weekend involving a weapon. Plattsburgh Police were called to 144 Sharron Avenue for a report of a man who was brandishing a handgun outside, while involved in an altercation with a woman. The guy took off prior to the arrival of the officers, but he was identified by witnesses as 25 year old Maximilian Marte of Plattsburgh. Detectives executed a search warrant at Marte’s home on Wednesday, where they seized a loaded 9mm pistol and approximately 14 grams of heroin with an approximate street value of $3,000. Marte was taken into custody and then locked up in the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
