A New York man who is being called a repeat sex offender by the US Attorney’s Office, was sentenced Thursday in federal court, to 139 Months in prison. 50 year old Terry Shellenberger of Albany, was actually sentenced to 129 months in prison for child pornography possession, and an additional 10 months in prison for supervised release violations. The judge also imposed an additional 25-year term of supervised release, to begin when Shellenberger is eventually released from prison. He must also register as a sex offender. Shellenberger pled guilty…. admitting that in July 2018, while on supervised release for a prior federal felony, he was in possession of a phone that he used to download child pornography videos from the internet. In addition, Shellenberger had not previously informed Probation Officers that he even had the phone, as he was required to do. The Probation Officers found it during an unannounced home visit. Shellenberger has a long list of prior federal convictions… including one for child pornography possession in 2006, and for failure to register as a sex offender in 2017.
