CHAMPLAIN WOMAN ARRESTED ON METH RELATED CHARGES

A Champlain woman has been arrested for possessing precursors to manufacture meth. State Police pulled over 31 year old Mary Burnell of Champlain in what began as a simple traffic stop on Church Street in the town of Champlain. Troopers discovered that Burnell had metal knuckles and precursors for the manufacture of methamphetamine in her vehicle. She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine. The United States Border Patrol assisted state police with the arrest. Burnell was arraigned and then released for now, but she was ordered to appear in the Town of Champlain Court on a date yet to be chosen.
