Flood watch in effect through 8 p.m. Saturday

The potential for flooding across much of the North Country remains high. The National Weather Service says temperatures rose well into the 40s and 50s yesterday and today, we could see 50s and even lower 60s across the area. That’s going to mean a quick melt to the snowpack and the potential for ice in the river to break and move downstream, creating ice jams when it gets to a choke point. That could easily mean flooding, so a flood watch is in effect through Saturday evening for all of Franklin County and all of our neighboring counites as well. We’ll dip back below freezing for highs on Sunday through midweek.
