Malone revises dog control ordinance

Malone village board members have revised the dog control ordinance, shifting the responsiblity for stray dogs to the town of Malone, instead of village police officers. The town contracts with Shirley Morton from the North Country Animal Shelter to handle dog complaints. She also works with several other North Country towns. Village police Chief Chris Premo says his officers will still respond to noise complaints about barking dogs and any calls about aggressive animals.
